University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital’s board-certified pediatric orthopaedists are trained to treat a range of congenital, developmental, and traumatic conditions affecting children’s bones, joints, and muscles. Our physicians are world-renowned experts in surgical and non-surgical treatments for conditions such as scoliosis, limb length discrepancies, clubfoot, hip dysplasia, and fractures.
Our Services
Clubfoot
The effective nonsurgical treatment of clubfoot, a birth deformity that misaligns bones and joints in the lower leg, was born at the University of Iowa. UI Stead Family Children's Hospital orthopedic surgeons are at the forefront of care and training for this condition that can be successfully treated.
Scoliosis
Our staff of specialists offers surgical and rehabilitative care to treat both young patients with adolescent scoliosis and older patients with degenerative scoliosis.
Sports Medicine
Injuries can happen to athletes of all ages. Our goal is to provide quick and easy access to our team of sports medicine experts. UI Sports Medicine offers a full spectrum of care for athletes young and old, competitive and recreational.
Spasticity
We offer medical and surgical treatments to reduce your child’s muscle spasticity—and improve comfort and function and decrease pain.
