Before an ablation, your health care provider may order some tests. These tests will tell your provider more about your heart’s condition and help plan for the procedure.
Tests before ablation
Electrocardiogram (ECG): Looks at the heart’s rhythm
Echocardiogram (echo): Checks the heart’s structure and function
Stress test: See how the heart responds to exercise
Blood tests
Other tests to take pictures of the heart
Night before procedure
You will need to stop eating and drinking the night before your procedure. Your provider will tell you how or if you should keep taking any of your medicines before your procedure. You may see the anesthesiologist before the procedure.
