After an ablation, you will be moved to a recovery area to rest. Your care team will check your blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing closely to check for complications. They will also check the catheter insertion sites for bleeding.
Recovery in hospital after procedure
You will have to lie still for about two to four hours, sometimes for four to six hours.
You may feel some discomfort at the catheter insertion sites and in their chest. This should go away in a few days.
Post-procedure care
Your care team will give you instructions about post-procedure care, such as rest, medicines, and follow-up appointments. It is important to follow your provider’s instructions to heal as quickly as possible.
Based on your condition and type of procedure, you may be able to go home the same day.
