About James R. Hopson
James Hopson, MD, is an adult cardiac electrophysiologist who specializes in treating patients with heart arrhythmias. He treats heart rhythm conditions, including atrial fibrillation (Afib), atrial flutter, heart palpitations, and more. He treats these conditions with medications, cardiac ablations, and implantable devices.
He participates in clinical research activities related to cardiac electrophysiology. He is invested in teaching, is the medical director for the weekly EP case conference, and is the medical director of the ECG Lab.
Dr. Hopson received his medical degree and completed his internal medicine residency at University of Iowa. He completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
