Dr. Cullen is an Evidence-Based Practice Scientist at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and Adjunct Faculty at University of Iowa College of Nursing. Cullen is known for her innovative educational programs and for supporting adoption of evidence-based practice (EBP) by point-of-care clinicians and teams. Her work has led to the adoption of innovative and evidence-based practices; improved patient safety; improved patient, family, and clinician satisfaction; reduced hospital length of stay and costs; and the transformation of many organizations’ infrastructure to support EBP. She has serves as the US representative on an international panel for Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Her research endeavors include collaborations with engineers to incorporate human factors in healthcare. She is an author of The Iowa Model Revised: Evidence-Based Practice to Promote Excellence in Health Care© and first author of the Iowa Implementation for Sustainability Framework©. Cullen has authored over 100 publications and has given local, regional, national, and international presentations. She co-authors a regular EBP column in the Journal of Peri-Anesthesia Nursing, is a member of the editorial board of the American Journal of Nursing, and participates on the grant review panel for the DAISY Foundation™. Cullen has received numerous awards for her work and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.

Ms. Fowler is a Research and EBP Specialist at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Fowler advances EBP through mentorship of frontline clinicians and patient engagement. She is the program coordinator for the EBP Internship. Her work includes the promotion of implementation science and has developed procedures and considerations for multiple strategies in the Iowa Implementation for Sustainability Framework©.

Dr. Hanrahan is the Director of Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice and a Nurse Scientist at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, a Certified pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and Adjunct Faculty at University of Iowa College of Nursing. Hanrahan is well-versed in EBP and clinical research. Her research interests include pediatric pain, implementation, and IV management. She has consulted for a National Institutes of Health multi-site study and is co-founder of the Distraction in Action© tool that helps parents learn to be a distraction coach for their child during medical procedures. Hanrahan recently served as site principal investigator for the US Clinician Wellbeing Study. She is an author of the Iowa Model Revised: Evidence-Based Practice to Promote Excellence in Health Care© and the Iowa Implementation for Sustainability Framework©. She has authored numerous publications and has given local, regional, national, and international presentation. She has authored evidence-based guidelines and implemented multiple EBP changes in the clinical setting. Hanrahan is a recipient of the 100 Great Iowa Nurses Award, a participant in the Mayday Pain & Society Fellowship: Communicating Science & Improving Care Program, and a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.

Dr. Laures is a Nurse Scientist at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and Adjunct Faculty at University of Iowa College of Nursing. Dr. Laures facilitates the EBP process through the Iowa Model both internally and externally. She is the program coordinator for the EBP Change Champion Program, merging the EBP process with high priority organizational topics. Her research area focuses on pain assessment and management in the pediatric, critically-ill population and is advancing the science behind the Iowa Model utilizing Implementation Science. She is the chair of the Writing for Manuscript Bootcamp for frontline clinicians. Her teaching focuses on EBP and facilitating DNP practice projects. Laures is a recipient of the 2022 Outstanding Dissertation Award from the Midwest Nursing Research Society Pediatric Research Interest Group.
