UI Health Care Medical Center once again ranked Iowa’s No. 1 hospital by ‘US News & World Report’
3 specialties ranked in the top 50 and 5 were designated as 'High-Performing'
University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center was once again ranked the top hospital in Iowa and recognized nationally in eight specialties in the 2024–25 “Best Hospitals” rankings published by U.S. News & World Report.
UI Health Care ranked in the top 50 hospitals nationally for three specialties:
Five specialties were designated as “High-Performing,” which places them in the top 10% of hospitals across the country:

Measurement of patient outcomes forms the foundation of the Best Hospitals rankings. This year’s methodology includes Medicare Advantage data, doubling the patient records analyzed. Additional changes to this year’s rankings included review of internal hospital transfers, outpatient outcomes, observation stays, and adjustments to weight of rehabilitation and the rating of gynecological cancer.
