About Brian Wolf
Brian Wolf, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine treating patients with knee, shoulder and elbow injuries. He is an expert at treating sports medicine conditions including shoulder labrum injuries, ulnar collateral ligament injuries of the elbow, and (anterior cruciate ligament) ACL injuries in the knee.
He is actively involved in research involving ACL injuries and shoulder instability problems.
Wolf has over 275 published articles and textbook chapters on sports medicine topics. He is involved in many professional organizations including serving on the board of directors at the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and board of directors for the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is the president of the Association of Clinical Elbow and Shoulder Surgeons and Vice President of the Mid-American Orthopedic Association.
He has also received a number of honors and awards for the work he has done, including the Neer Award from the American Shoulder and Elbow Society twice, the O’Donoghue Award from the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine twice, and the Ann Doner Vaughn Kappa Delta award twice.
Wolf received his medical degree from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine, before completing his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at University of Iowa Health Care. He completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Hospital for Special Surgery, New York. He also received his master's degree in clinical research at the University of Iowa.
