I can't say enough great things about Dr.Vanorny. I never expected this kind of great care from a Ortho Surgeon. I wish we had more like him. Being a practicing physician for 30 years, I know the importance and the difficulties in providing such an excellent care. UOI Hospital and clinic is lucky to have him on staff.

Dr Vanorny fixed my periprosthetic femur fracture last year. It has now healed and he responded at this visit to my concerns about my knee pain and gave a bilateral knee injection. He is very friendly and knowledgable .

Always treated with deep respect on my questions or concerns. He takes the time to make sure I understand. My husband comes with me to many of my appts. He has commented how he builds trust and communicates well. While the doctor is an expert, he talks to you as an everyday person. He comes across as very humble. (And extremely knowledgeable).

I appreciated Eric the trainer, the xray team and Dr Vanorny. While expertise matters, it also matters how you are treated. Having people treat you with kindness matters. It is a vulnerable feeling to have ortho problems. You cannot fix this yourself and and need to be able to trust your care providers. Treating people with kindness and respect opens the door to trust.

Last visit - Getting the suture cutoff. Having my questions answered about the calcium dosage and criteria for surgery for my other hip. My surgery for this hip was perfect and changed my life, giving me my life back. He has been there for me when and how I needed It when I had the wound separation. And lastly, how thrilled he was with the gift I gave him. It made me happy to do something beautiful and special for him. He deserved this and so much more..I am very grateful for having him as my doctor.

We were warned when we arrived that Dr Vanorny was running an hour late, and after our appointment, I know why. He spent OVER AN HOUR with us, talking to us, answering our questions, brain storming, listening to our concerns. And since he was running late, my guess is he was spending that much time with all his patients!!! You can tell he cares about his patients based by how much time he spends with them... He truly is THE BEST!!!

Dr. Vanorny was exceptional. He and his team had clearly spent a significant amount of time reviewing my quite complicated chart. Dr. Vanorny spent 1 hour with me in the exam room discussing options, which is essentially unheard of. He was kind, compassionate, understanding, and very thorough discussing what is going on with my hip and what my options are. I was extremely impressed, and have already recommended him to my team of orthopedics and PT's back in MN.
