Having congenital heart disease myself inspired me to become a pediatric cardiologist. My area of clinical expertise is in pediatric cardiomyopathy, cardio-oncology, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation. My research interest is in improving the outcome and quality of life in patients with cardiomyopathy or heart transplant. I am also very passionate about preventing and educating the public in the case of a sudden cardiac arrest outside of the hospital. My family (wife and two daughters) moved to Iowa to further help the children of Iowa and to return to my wife’s alma mater.
