About Nicolas Noiseux

Nicolas O. Noiseux, MD, MS, FRCSC, is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in problems with previous hip and knee replacements, rapid recovery protocols for hip and knee replacements, as well as work-related injuries related to hip and knee dysfunction.

He received his medical degree and his orthopedic surgery residency training at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, before completing his hip and knee reconstruction fellowship and a research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Noiseux has written several book chapters and publications on hip and knee reconstruction research topics and has won multiple awards such as the Eugene Rogalla Prize and the Vernon A. Nickel Award. 

He is an associate professor in the department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Iowa and serves as the Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs.

After the first lab work results which were elevated I was referred to another test to draw fluid off my left hip which was not successful the Dr. Never contact me nor did he ask his nurse Sue who is very nice to contact me. I called his office twice and each time a different nurse other than Sue return my call. 1st call please tell the Dr. That I haven't heard from him. 2nd call please have Sue or Dr to call me and also tell him I demand communication. Is he telling me the test he ordered that was unsuccessful Is the only test available for my condition. When Sue returned she called to say she received my msg and that he is referring me to have another blood draw and a special MRI. He has told me that if for any reason he has to remove my old hip replacement a new replacement was not an option, meaning I would be in a wheel chair an option I don't care for. Now waiting to schedule MRI.

My appointment was to speak to Dr Noiseux about by knee replacement follow up and to consult and do preparations for hip replacement on [date]. After examination, Dr Noiseux advised we do hip injections before surgery replacement as I was not evidencing groin pain symptoms. I was surprised by this "pause" as I had been told both hips and both knees needed to be replaced and that my hip joints were defective. However, I appreciate doing the least invasive process first.

Really no comments. Dr Noisuex never gave up on finding the problem with my hip! And he fixed it! I really wanted hip to do my other hip replacement but he's such a busy dr. I would have to wait 5 months. And it's way too painful to wait that long. So I'm getting it done locally.
