When to visit Orthopedic Injury Walk-In Clinic

The Orthopedic Injury Walk-in Clinic treats injuries to the muscles, tendons, ligaments, or joints that have occurred within the last seven days.

When unexpected, acute (in the last seven days) accidents happen, our Orthopedic Injury Walk-in Clinic can provide immediate care, diagnostic imaging, and access to an orthopedic specialist.

Fall or injury resulting in pain that may indicate a broken bone. Please note that if there is a deformity to a bone, it is best to go to the Emergency Department.

When to visit the Emergency Room

Call 911 Immediately or go to the emergency room if you are having a serious or life-threatening condition.

If a person could die or be permanently disabled, it is an emergency.

When to make a Telehealth Appointment

For some minor health issues, an in-person trip to a Quick Care location may not be necessary.

A telehealth video visit is an easy and convenient way to meet with a UI Health Care provider to explain your injury or illness, describe your symptoms, receive a diagnosis, discuss treatment options, and get a medication prescription.

When to consider a Quick Care video visit

For some minor illnesses and injuries, Quick Care video visits are available through MyChart on your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

It’s the same personalized care and expertise you receive at any of our Quick Care locations—now available from the comfort and privacy of your home.

No. While you’re able to hold your spot online in the wait queue, this is not a scheduled appointment. The actual time you are seen will depend on several factors, including the number of patients already being treated in the clinic and the variety of their illnesses. We are required to see the sickest patients first, which can also affect your wait time.
