Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
Bothersome urinary symptoms due to an enlarged prostate, otherwise known as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia or BPH, are very common, especially with age. We offer a variety of treatment options to improve your urinary symptoms, including:
- Oral medications
- Transurethral resection of prostate
- Transurethral enucleation of prostate
- Open simple prostatectomy
- Robotic simple prostatectomy
Additional Bladder Problems
- Interstitial cystitis
- Neurogenic bladder (which occurs when the nerve signals to the bladder are compromised)
- Painful urination
- Recurrent urinary tract infections
While most bladder symptoms may be treated relatively simply with medication, biofeedback training, or change in lifestyle, surgery is sometimes needed.
In these cases, the center's urologic reconstructive surgeons work carefully with each patient to determine the best procedure.
