Nursing Informatics

The nursing informatics nursing practice leaders within UI Health Care Information Systems coordinate and optimize the electronic health record (Epic) for Nursing Services and Patient Care staff. They work on activities such as:

  • Providing workflow analysis and project management on electronic health record functionalities
  • Developing technologies that support clinical decision making
  • Supporting end users in full uitlization of the electronic health record
  • Collaborating to create an integrated clinical information system
  • Facilitating data entry and retrieval
  • Supporting the collection of the Nursing Minimum Data Sets and integrating Standardized Nursing Languages into clinical information systems
