University of Iowa Health Care Nursing Student Internship
The Department of Nursing Services and Patient Care is offering a 10-week Internship Program for nursing students between their junior and senior years at a 4-year nursing program or going into their last semester at a 2-year nursing program.
The program enhances their education and clinical skills as they work side-by-side with a nurse preceptor. The position offers competitive wages and additional opportunities to shadow nurses in various nursing areas. Program dates for the Summer 2025 Internship Program will begin on May 19, 2025 and May 27, 2025 and will run for 10 weeks (up to 360 hours), with the program closing near the end of July. At that time, Interns will have the opportunity to stay on in an hourly capacity pending area need.
Nursing students must meet the following qualifications:
Must be between junior and senior year at a 4-year nursing program; or going into the last semester at a 2-year nursing program
Completed an acute care clinical rotation
Interest in working at University of Health Care upon graduation
Must be enrolled at one of the following Universities or Colleges:
Allen College, Clarke University, Coe College, Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, Elmhurst University, Iowa Valley Community College, Kirkwood Community College, Luther College, Mercy College of Health Sciences, Mt. Mercy University, Northeast Iowa Community College, Purdue Global University, Rockhurst University, Southeastern Community College, St. Ambrose University, St. Joseph’s College, University of Dubuque, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, William Penn University
