About Robert W. Westermann
Robert Westermann, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in treating patients with sports-related injuries to the hip, knee, and shoulder. He treats conditions including hip impingement/FAI, knee ligament, cartilage injuries, and rotator cuff and labral tears of the shoulder. He is an expert at treating these conditions through minimally invasive and arthroscopic techniques.
He is actively involved in multi-center outcomes research on sports related injuries to the hip and knee.
Westermann received his medical degree from the University of Washington, before completing his residency at the University of Iowa. He completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic and a Hip Preservation fellowship through the ANCHOR Group (Washington University in St. Louis, University of Michigan, Twin Cities Orthopedics).
