Infusion Suite

Infusion therapy is part of treatment for many conditions. Through this procedure you will receive medicine directly into your bloodstream. Your blood pressure and heart rate are closely monitored during your entire treatment.

At University of Iowa Health Care–Iowa River Landing, nurses with many years of experience will be caring for you.

What to Expect During Your Infusion Therapy Visit

You will check in at the infusion suite reception area on Level 5.

If lab work needs to be done, we will draw blood when your IV is placed.

The time for infusion can vary great (one to five hours). Different medicines have different preparation and delivery schedules.

Your visit may include meeting with a team member in a consultation room, where you may have private discussions about your care and treatment.
