The neuromuscular diseases service provides comprehensive evaluation and care for patients with peripheral nervous system disorders including:
- Motor neuron disease (ALS, Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig's Disease)
- Nerve root and plexus disorders
- Neuromuscular transmission disorders (i.e. myasthenia gravis)
- Peripheral neuropathies (Charcot-Marie-Tooth or CMT)
- Primary muscle diseases
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) has designated this service as an Adult MDA Clinic and regularly assists patients and their families in obtaining care.
