In 2023, University of Iowa Health Care assumed operations of the Family Medicine Center, and its family medicine residency program—the only such training program in western Iowa.

The Family Medicine Center was established in 1975 in collaboration with MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center and Unity Point–St. Luke’s Hospital Sioux City.

For nearly 50 years, the health and wellness of our patients has been our primary focus.  We see patients for pregnancy care, baby wellness, vaccinations, school and athletic physicals, acute care visits, annual physicals, regular check-ups, mental health, and more. We provide extensive on-site laboratory and radiology services. Our pharmacists are available for medication consultation and medication management services.
