Why work at UI Health Care
UI Health Care is proud to be a leader in nursing excellence. We were the first health care system in Iowa to earn Magnet® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in 2004 and the first to achieve four re-designations — in 2008, 2013, 2018, and 2023. Our reputation extends internationally for advancing evidence-based practice (EBP), demonstrated by the widespread adoption of the Iowa Model©, which guides clinical decision-making and the EBP process across UI Health Care and beyond.
We also embrace an interprofessional, collaborative professional governance model that empowers nurses to participate in decision-making at every level. Through professional governance, you’ll have opportunities to provide feedback, identify challenges, and help shape solutions.
We offer a compensation package designed to support your health, well-being, and long-term future. Our benefits include inclusive health and dental insurance options, first-rate retirement plans with employer matching, relocation reimbursement, tuition assistance, and generous paid time off for vacation and sick time. We believe in rewarding your commitment with benefits that truly make a difference.
Your growth matters to us. That’s why we provide programs and resources to help you advance your career, including our Experienced Nurse Fellowship Program and Professional Recognition Program (clinical ladder). We also offer free or discounted continuing education and professional certification support, ensuring you have the resources and guidance you need to apply for and successfully complete your certification.
