Community Connect Iowa links community hospitals across Iowa to the same type of Epic electronic health record (EHR) system used by UI Health Care. Participating hospitals have access to the latest in EHR technology, supported by the technical expertise at UI Health Care.
Through Community Connect Iowa, local hospitals access components of Epic’s suite of tools such as patient records, the MyChart patient portal, and Care Everywhere, which securely shares information when patients receive care at more than one facility. The program helps improve care coordination and strengthens collaboration between the community hospitals and UI Health Care.
