The Material Services Department at University of Iowa Health Care provides a comprehensive selection of patient care products in a cost-effective, efficient and convenient manner.
Our goals are to:
Provide reusable and disposable products that are safe for use from an operational and an epidemiological basis
Provide quality products at minimal expense through minimizing purchase price and maximizing process efficiencies
Encourage centralization of materials management functions by providing service levels that exceed the expectations of staff and patients
Our four divisions include: Processed Stores, Mail Services, Shipping and Receiving, and Linen Services. Our 90 full-time employees include storekeepers, mail handlers, sewing machine operators, supervisors, and clerical staff.
