Here’s a thought: Get the flu shot! This year’s flu campaign begins Monday, Sept. 24.
Flu season is coming. Take advantage of the free vaccinations provided by the university. Getting vaccinated is convenient and considerate; protect yourself, your families, and your coworkers by getting a vaccination and avoiding the spread of this year’s flu.
Flu Shot Eligibility
UI regular full-time and part-time (50 percent or greater) faculty and staff are eligible for a free vaccine. ALL UI Health Care employees and volunteers, regardless of percentage of time worked, are eligible and encouraged to obtain a free flu vaccine as well.
Not eligible for the free vaccine? No need to worry!
Although you don't qualify for the free flu vaccine through our employee health program, you have other options for getting a flu shot. The cost may be covered by your insurance.

Make it Easy to Get Your Vaccine
- Sign into your ReadySet account and complete a short survey. Why? It’s a way to process important information while protecting your privacy. Once you’ve set up an account and finished the flu survey, it means you’re ready to get vaccinated.
- New this year: If you’ve used ReadySet in the past, you can now sign in using your HawkID and password. You can also access the link under the “External Links” tab of Employee Self Service.
- Never used ReadySet before? Log in to set up an account.
- Find out
how to set up your ReadySet account [PDF].
- Logged in but still need help?
Walk through the survey step by step [PDF]
- Still having trouble? Head to one of the vaccination locations in the
schedule [PDF] and someone there will walk you through the process.
- Bring your UI photo ID card (the Iowa One® card) to the vaccination location. A UI Hospitals & Clinics photo ID badge is also acceptable.
