Patient and Family Advisory Board (PFAB)

The Patient and Family Advisory Board (PFAB) is a group made up of patients, families, and caregivers. The Advisory Board plays an important role in the delivery of care within University of Iowa Health Care by keeping communication lines open between patients and families and their health care team.

Allow patients and families to:

  • Give input into health-care practices and programs
  • Have a safe place to voice their concerns and give input to their care
  • Form a collaborative relationship with the health-care team that is culturally sensitive, respectful, and compassionate
