Places to Stay in the Iowa City Area

Hospitality is a big draw for the Iowa City and Coralville area. 

Our visitors and patients have several hotel and motel options in the area. Most accommodations can promise that you are minutes from our university or downtown campuses, with the range of drive-times running from 2 to 12 minutes.

As you make your selection from the list of available hotels and motels you may want to inquire about special hospital-rate discounts and shuttle. Also note that on certain weekends--Hawkeye home football games in the fall, University graduation in mid-May, and weddings in June--hotels and motels near the hospital tend to fill up well in advance.

The Helen K. Rossi Volunteer Guest House gives comfort and lodging to family members of inpatients at UI Health Care's downtown campus, including Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
Ronald McDonald House and Hope Lodge
Ronald McDonald House is available very close to Medical Center at University Campus for eligible patients and family members.
Guest Lodging at Downtown Campus
We provide overnight accommodations for loved ones of patients staying at the downtown campus hospital, or for those traveling for an early appointment the following day.
