Traffic Notifications for UI Health Care Locations
Newton Road Ramp and Parking Ramp 4 west closure July 26-29
The Newton Road Ramp and the west section of Parking Ramp 4 will be closed from 4 p.m. Friday, July 26, to 3 a.m. Monday, July 29, for maintenance. All vehicles must be removed from these areas by 6 p.m. Friday or they will be towed. Please plan transportation accordingly and allow extra time for commuting if possible.
Skywalk Closure
The skyway from West Campus Transportation Center (WCTC) to Parking Ramp 3 will be closed from Friday, July 12, to Friday, Aug. 2, for construction. Please plan transportation to the hospital accordingly and follow posted signage to avoid the construction area.
Temporary For the Kids Way lane closure starting June 10
The eastbound lane on For the Kids Way will be blocked off at the entrance to Parking Ramp 4 from Monday, June 10, to early July due to construction on the Ramp 4 entrance. Drivers should follow posted signage to navigate through the work area and avoid any blocked areas.
The entrance/exit of Parking Ramp 4 on For the Kids Way will remain open during this construction, except during certain weekends. Traffic heading from Hawkins Drive toward Grand Avenue via For the Kids Way will be able to enter the ramp but cannot continue past it. Commuters can still exit right out of Parking Ramp 4 onto For the Kids Way and continue toward the Grand Avenue intersection.
Drivers looking to get to Grand Avenue from Hawkins Drive should use Melrose Avenue.
Newton Road construction
Construction on Newton Road will impact CAMBUS routes and stops through December. Plan travel to our university campus accordingly.
1st Ave and I-80 Interchange Road Construction
Disruption expected to last through 2025 at exit 242
Please be aware that you may experience traffic delays in the Coralville and Iowa City areas, due to road construction near exit 242 off I-80.
While this construction is occurring at the I-80/1st Ave interchange, it’s likely that a broader area—including many of our clinic locations—will be affected. Please allow extra travel time.
