In addition to all that the Medical Center at the University Campus has to offer, we have created first-class shopping, dining, recreation and cultural attractions for you right within the Iowa City/Coralville area.

Wild Rose Gifts
You'll find a wide selection of gifts and other items at Wild Rose Gifts, located near the hospital's main entrance. Hospital volunteers can help you find gifts, cards, flowers, Hawkeye merchandise, toys, jewelry, candy, and more. Or you can purchase a gift certificate that's good in the store.
Play Spaces
Play areas on the inpatient units feature toys, games, and equipment to delight the playfulness in our patients. Our outdoor playcourt includes play areas appropriate for toddlers, preschoolers, and older children.
Donate Blood at DeGowin Blood Center
Your blood donation will take about 45 minutes. You can make an appointment or stop by for a donation (walk-ins are accepted). DeGowin Blood Center is open until 7:30 p.m. on weekdays and is located at C250 General Hospital (Elevator B to 2nd Level).

Patient and Visitor Activity Center

The Patient and Visitor Activity Center is a multi-use cultural space for patients and their families. Here, the hospital is transformed into a more human and healing environment with comfortable lounges, live music, fresh air, and so much more.
